Ranelagh School
Under my skin investigates
multicultural Britain from the perspective
of Ranelagh
School in Bracknell. A
film-maker, poet,
visual artist and theatre-designer worked
in school for 10 weeks. Imagery from the poetry
workshops and films was incorporated into an
installation in a traditional Mongolian
yurt. An exploration of identity,
values, and our multicultural environment
provides a future learning resource
and powerful space to visit. Films
/texts/ faces/ thoughts/ aspirations
and promises interract through light
projections, screenprints, prayer
flags, digital prints, films and paint
marks.

Carole
works in primary and secondary schools
on visual art projects making
site specific installations. Discussion, drawing and
photography are a
starting point to inspire ideas around a theme and
this raw material becomes
the imagery for screenprints, digital prints, projections and paintings.
She works collaboratively with the students and
uses techniques which often
surprise students who have previously thought they
were 'no good at art'.
She also shows staff how to understand and incorporate
these techniques simply
and inexpensively into the classroom. She
has worked with photographers,
filmmakers, poets, theatre designers, dancers
and musicians.
